There are 2 lakes.
Lower lake is the original lake and is now set aside as a nature reserve
and a bird sanctuary. There are wooded areas and lovely walks.
It is a home to various bird species and there is a bird watching den which
visitors are able to use. A circular walk around the lakes takes 1 hour!
Upper Lake is
the newer of the two lakes and the largest at 80 acres. There is
a visitors centre with car parking, a cafe/restaurant and gift shop and
childrens play area. A litle further on is the sports centre with canoe,
windsurfing and dinghy hire. This lake is a top coarse fishing match
competition centre. Carp up to 28 lbs; 50lbs bags of bream and 20
lbs bags of rudd can be expected. When you have exhausted yourself
after a day on the lakes, repair yourself at the Bradworthy Inn (restaurant,
Beer Garden) at Bradworthy a mere 2 miles away.
