St Teath is a tiny traditional village,
of old slate cottages. There is a village shop and Post Office,
butcher's shop and the excellent White Hart Inn (recommended by the Good
Food Guide and The Real Ale Guide). The 17 th cent Inn is well worth
a mention as it provides a great welcome with an excellent range of beers,
wines, restaurant with good food, a family pub with children welcome(children's
menu). Fresh fish caught locally is usually on the menu. The Inn has
games, pool and darts room. There is also outside rear garden with seating,
for the summer months. At the centre of the village is the village
clocktower square with the Clocktower War Memorial. Next to this is the
old church (magnificent celtic cross in churchyard). The church door
has a painted Jacobean alms box and inside the building are many painted
17th cent wooden items. There are good walks leading off the village
square (the proprietor of the quality butcher's shop seems to know all
the walks-but remember to reciprocate the favour by buying some produce!).
