BUDE 99
SLEEPS 2 to 12
COT & HIGH CHAIR
A fantastic character farmhouse,
over 300 years old, situated in Morwentstowe hamlet, near Kilkhampton village,
5 miles from Bude, North Cornwall. Only 2 miles to the sandy beach
at Duck Pool, Coombe Valley, with lovely coastal and beach walks into Bude.
A lovely National Trust footpath walk leading from the farm down to Coombe
Valley and the beach. Bude has excellent classic sandy beaches with
a huge open air free swimming pool on the beach. Also pleasant shops, waterside
restaurants, cafes, pubs and beach resort entertainment . A traditional
farmhouse with lots of atmosphere and roomy throughout. It was originally
2 farmhouses but has interconnecting doors both upstairs and downstairs
now making one dwelling . This is why it has double facilities such as
2 lounges & 2 bathrooms and 2 staircases. It is situated on a
working farm in a really pretty traditional farm setting at the end of
a farm lane. Large enclosed farm garden with an orchard at
the bottom, somewhat away from main road traffic so safer for
young children. There are woods and fields to stroll on, the farm being
dairy, beef and corn. The character, roominess and setting make this a
very attractive place to enjoy a holiday. The double facilities will be
a boon for 2 families and the children will love running in and out of
the large rooms (there are 2 staircases!) and gardens. A few minutes stroll
to 2 ponds on the farm in a very picturesque woodland setting. One pond,
over 1000 years old and thought to have supplied the monks who lived
nearby with carp, has been set aside as a wildlife sanctuary, often with
migratory birds such as ducks, etc. The second pond (approx 66 yards long
) has been stocked during 2003 and 2004 with coarse fish (golden rudd,
tench & carp-as at May 2006 lots of fish being caught, tench up to
3 lbs and carp up to 5 lbs). The ponds makes a good picnic area.
