Cottages Bodmin and area

Bodmin was once the capital of Cornwall and is a small and thriving market town with a good selection of shops, cafes and pub, traditional cottages and old buildings. In the middle of the town you can visit the once menacing Bodmin Jail and the small Bodmin Museum containing exhibits of local history; also notice the old Market-House with its frieze of ox heads, now a shopping arcade. Just outside Bodmin are Nat Trust Lanhydrock House and also the woods at Dunmere (open to the public and great for walking). In the 1066 Doomsday Book Bodmin was the only town in Cornwall with a market.
