Miners Retreat Description
Miners Retreat, a detached stone cottage in a quiet rural setting near St Day village 2 miles from Redruth, West Cornwall. Converted during 2011 from an 18th cent tin miners building with great care taken in providing very comfortable accommodation, one of two properties in an attractive woodland setting. A good central position for exploring West Cornwall with beaches on all 3 coasts within easy travelling distance, including the excellent beach at Portreath which is 6 miles. Truro is 6 miles, Falmouth 8 miles and St Ives approx 13 miles. Miners Retreat has its own adjoining 1 acre garden and also a large front area with seating & barbecue. Access is by a shared short driveway, this cottage being the second property. The cottage is actually in Carharrack village which is a few miles from the better known and larger St Day village. Carharrack village shop is a short stroll away. Under half a mile walk to Carharracks award winning Fox and Hounds pub (restaurant & bar, also outdoor seating), with 2 other country pubs within 2 miles. Lots of footpath walks in the vicinity.
