Porth is a tiny dot of a village bordering the superb classic sandy beach.  This is of course just one stop on the stretch of almost continuous lovely beaches  which run all the way from Padstow to Newquay.  Porth  is as good as any a place to stop along this route and has a car park.  If you are a customer of the Mermaid Inn (buying a meal, excellent food, large indoor and outdoor seating areas) it appears that you have free parking in their own car park at the rear of the Inn.  There is also the Sea Horse cafe and takeaway.  The surf shop seems to have surf hire.  Only a few miles takes you from Porth into Newquay or in the other direction onto Watergate Bay.
